Today was all about action words! 😎 At Ramana’s Garden, we’re dedicated to making learning as fun and interactive as possible. Through games, role-playing, and group activities, our students enthusiastically dive into lessons—today’s focus was on verbs, the building blocks of dynamic sentences. With over 200 students from underprivileged backgrounds at our school, we utilize various teaching styles to cater to each child’s learning needs, ensuring everyone not only learns but thrives. Navratri, one of the most anticipated festivals in the Hindu calendar, spans nine nights (nav means nine and ratri means nights in Sanskrit). This celebrated day is dedicated to the goddess Durga for her triumph over the buffalo demon Mahishasura but also symbolizes the victory of good over evil. Each day, we explore different aspects of the goddess’s life, which teaches our children about bravery, devotion, morality, and virtue. We dance, we sing, we celebrate but we also focus on inner purification and renewal during these days. We are so grateful we are able to provide these children a safe place to thrive where they can experience the childhood joys of their favorite holidays. If it were not for Ramana’s and our kind donors, these kids would be homeless, destitute, abused, assaulted, in child labor and possibly murdered.
